Mia Briant Hands 2027 Verbal Commitment to Boston College
NEW COMMIT: Boston College has scored a new verbal commitment for the 2027-28 season and beyond from Denver, Colo., native Mia Briant. Briant primarily specializes in distance freestyle.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am so honored and extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at Boston College! Thank you to everyone who has supported, challenged, and encouraged me on this journey so far, especially Coach Shawn, my teammates, my parents, and my little brother Jake. Finally, a huge thank you to Coach Bruno and Coach Dara for this incredible opportunity. I can’t wait to work hard and be part of this amazing program! GO EAGLES!!”
Briant does her club swimming with University of Denver Hilltoppers and most recently competed at Four Corners Speedo Sectionals where her best finish was an 18th-place showing in the 400 IM. She was the runner-up in the 500 free at at Colorado Senior Meet and had a trio of top-8 finishes at the Pioneer Open. Last summer, she recorded two best times at Mt. Hood Speedo Sectionals.
Her best times include:
- 400 IM – 4:26.36
- 1650 free – 17:19.89
- 200 breast – 2:18.76
Briant is a great pickup for the Eagles, who finished 15th at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Her best time in the mile and 200 breast would’ve ranked first on Boston College’s lineup this past season, while her top 400 IM time would’ve been second.
